Twilight vistors to Hilbre Island
The first visitor to the tower was a kestrel at around 20:12 on the 8th July 2003, followed by a crow two minutes later.
Maybe the kestrel was eating a vole (voles are known to inhabit the island) and the crow was after an easy meal.
